CMA CGM Reported Frontrunner to Replace Altrad as France Rugby Jersey Sponsor

French rugby team jersey sponsor after Altrad: The French Rugby Federation will not renew its partnership with Mohed Altrad's group, and CMA CGM, the Marseille-based shipping giant, is reported to be a leading candidate to sponsor the Bleus from July 2027, though no deal has been announced.

French rugby team jersey sponsor after Altrad, Digi Mart USA News (France): The French Rugby Federation (FFR) has confirmed it will not extend its partnership with the group led by Mohed Altrad, which sponsors the jersey of the France national team, the XV de France. The question now is who will succeed Altrad on the shirt starting in July 2027.

One candidate has drawn particular attention: CMA CGM. The French shipping giant, headquartered in Marseille, had already been presented as one of the favorites for the prestigious contract, according to earlier reporting by Le Parisien.

That earlier report placed CMA CGM in a strong position in the race for the sponsorship. The Marseille group, described as the world’s third-largest maritime transport company, could link its image to the French national team.

Such a partnership would be significant for French rugby given the company’s international reach. For CMA CGM, having its name on the Bleus jersey would also offer major visibility, particularly during international matches played in France and abroad.

Although the CMA CGM candidacy appears serious based on reporting over recent months, no agreement has been officially announced. The FFR has confirmed that its selection process for a new partner is still ongoing.

In its statement announcing the end of its collaboration with Altrad, the Federation said the choice of the next jersey sponsor remains open: “The selection process is continuing, with several proposals still under review. No final decision has been made at this stage regarding the future jersey partner of the Bleus.”

The new partner is expected to appear on the XV de France jersey from the 2027-2028 season, including during preparatory matches for the 2027 Rugby World Cup. However, its logo will not appear on the team’s shirt during the World Cup itself, as jersey sponsors are prohibited at that tournament.

CMA CGM’s candidacy therefore remains a lead to watch, pending the official decision of the French Rugby Federation.
