Birmingham Halloween chaos, USA News (Birmingham, UK): Police have arrested seven people after chaotic disorder broke out in Birmingham on Halloween night. On Saturday, police clashed with masses of youths as they set off fireworks at each other around the city centre.

Footage shared online shows the mass disorder around the busy areas of Stephenson Street and Corporation Street. The shocking videos show crowds of people dressed in black, firing explosives in the street and running through the streets as Britons celebrated Halloween festivities. Crowds of people could be seen running away and screaming in terror as more and more fireworks were launched, while large pyrotechnics were also launched at police vans as the city centre became engulfed in chaos.

In one video shared online, at least five police officers can be seen chasing a group of yobs as they attempted to bring the chaos to an end. Police officers were also seen being bowled over by the rowdy mob as they struggled to keep the peace on the streets.

Following the disorder, West Midlands Police confirmed that seven people aged between 15 and 26 had been arrested. Some were taken into custody on suspicion of assault, possession of fireworks and possession of an offensive weapon. All seven remained in police custody following the arrests made in and around Stephenson Street and Corporation Street.

In a statement, West Midlands Police confirmed that Section 60 powers would remain in the area until 1am on Monday morning, allowing officers to stop and search people without needing reasonable grounds in Birmingham city centre, Sparkbrook, and Soho Road. The force noted that these operations involve high-visibility patrols, plain-clothed patrols, firearms officers, dog units, and drone units, alongside ongoing violence reduction and prevention work through Project Guardian.
