Iztapalapa and Iztacalco water pressure reduction for seven days, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico City, Mexico): Residents of some areas of Iztapalapa and Iztacalco will face a drop in the pressure of the drinking water supply for seven days due to work to replace the pumping equipment at the San Lorenzo Tezonco well, according to the Secretaría de Gestión Integral del Agua (SEGIAGUA) of Mexico City.
In a statement published Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the city agency said the work began at 11:00 hours and will extend until next Tuesday, November 10. The intervention will mainly affect two neighborhoods in the east of the capital, where residents could experience a reduction in the amount of water reaching their homes.
SEGIAGUA said service will be restored once the work is completed and made the Línea H2O available for residents to request water tanker trucks (pipas de agua) if necessary.
According to the official notice, the replacement of the pumping equipment at the San Lorenzo Tezonco well will cause low pressure in the water supply in two neighborhoods: Agrícola Oriental in Iztacalco and Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado in Iztapalapa.
The agency warned of a reduction in water pressure, meaning it is not necessarily a total service suspension at every home.
The reduction could nevertheless affect daily activities, particularly in homes that depend on network pressure to fill water tanks (tinacos) or cisterns. Authorities recommend that residents stay alert to official notices and use stored water responsibly during the maintenance period.
Service is expected to be restored at 18:00 hours on November 10, once the work is finished.
