Democratic Electoral Victory and Trump Immigration Policy, Digi Mart USA News: The Democratic electoral victory in the United States could complicate President Donald Trump’s immigration plans by opening the possibility of blocking budgets, reviewing the operations of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and demanding accountability from its officials, according to a report published by UnoTV.
Dr. Eunice Rendón, a specialist in public policy, migration and security, told UnoTV.com that the results represent a message to Trump about the power of the Hispanic vote.
“It was a message to Donald Trump, about the power of the Hispanic vote,” Rendón said.
Regarding the bilateral relationship, Rendón said the election results represent an opportunity for Mexico to resume dialogue with U.S. legislators.
“Donald Trump can ease the pressure he has placed on the president of Mexico and the Mexican government a little,” she said.
Rendón also considered that Trump could reduce pressure on the Mexican government on security, drug trafficking and fentanyl issues, due to the questions he will face in Congress.
