Tour de France routes book, Digi Mart USA News (France): Cycling fans will soon be able to explore a new book devoted to the most beautiful roads the Tour de France has covered. Titled “Les routes du Tour de France,” the volume is published by Éditions Solar in collaboration with L’Équipe and is scheduled to appear on November 5, 2026.
Spanning 200 richly illustrated pages, the book takes readers through 100 emblematic itineraries used by the Tour de France since its creation in 1903. It is presented as a way to rediscover the French landscapes that served as the backdrop for some of the greatest feats in the race’s history.
From the legendary climbs of the Tourmalet and Mont Ventoux to the roads around the Puy de Dôme, the book revisits places that have become inseparable from the Grande Boucle. It does not, however, limit itself to the major mountain passes that built the event’s reputation.
Sites such as Mont-Saint-Michel, the Pont du Gard, the Old Port of Marseille, the Promenade des Anglais in Nice and the Champs-Élysées in Paris are also featured. The book additionally highlights lesser-known locations to the general public, including Gerberoy in the Oise, Thury-Harcourt-le-Hom in Normandy, the wine routes of Burgundy and the white roads around Troyes.
Throughout the pages, photographs by L’Équipe accompany the selection, illustrating how much the Tour de France has contributed to promoting French natural, historical and cultural heritage.
Beyond the landscapes, “Les routes du Tour de France” also recounts the history of the race through the places that hosted its greatest champions and their exploits.
The book is aimed as much at devotees of the Grande Boucle as at enthusiasts of heritage and discovery, combining cycling, history and landscapes in a single approach.
