Lycée Aristide-Maillol Perpignan renovation priority ranking, Digi Mart USA News (Perpignan, France): In its Thursday, November 5 edition, the daily newspaper Le Parisien-Aujourd’hui en France published a list, compiled by the Ministry of National Education, of the 200 most dilapidated public secondary schools in France that should be renovated as a priority.

In the top 10 most affected high schools, the Lycée Aristide-Maillol in Perpignan ranks fifth. The ministry based this assessment on contributions from more than 100,000 high school students submitted through the Agora platform, which was open from Tuesday, October 6, to Friday, October 23, 2026, to collect students’ comments following their recent mobilizations.

According to the publisher’s report, the ministry will transmit each synthesis to the regional authorities. Education Minister Édouard Geffray told Le Parisien that “an action plan will then be needed.”

In the consultation, the dilapidated state of school buildings ranked second among students’ concerns, after overly long school days. The ranking criteria include the age and deterioration of buildings, thermal insulation problems, the condition of furniture and classrooms, the cleanliness of sanitary facilities, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, and sports facilities and changing rooms.

Any report on these issues submitted through the platform contributed to the ranking.

The Lycée Maillol received very poor marks for climate-related conditions, including heating during cold periods and heat when temperatures rise. Despite these conditions, students at the school achieved strong results on the 2025 baccalaureate: according to L’Étudiant, of the 531 candidates who sat the exam, 94% passed and 62% earned a mention.
