JDA Dijon Coupe de France win over Limoges, Digi Mart USA News (Dijon, France): JDA Dijon defeated Limoges 90-74 in a Coupe de France basketball match, according to a post-game report from the publisher Le Bien Public.

JDA Dijon coach Vincent Dumestre said his team needed to respond to its previous game at Nancy, where it conceded 108 points. He said the training sessions that followed focused on defense and a return to fundamentals, and that his team responded well overall.

Dumestre said the team played at roughly 70 to 80 percent of its potential, with more work ahead, but showed much stronger defensive solidity and robustness. He credited the team with strong collective coordination in pick-and-roll situations and one-on-one defense, noting that the team did not concede easy layups immediately.

Dumestre explained several roster decisions. Justin Bibbins was not returned to the floor late in the game as a precaution after a severe ankle twist against Nancy, though he played to maintain rhythm for an upcoming match.

David Holston was given about twenty minutes to regain rhythm, and Narace and Audry also received more minutes. Kregor Hermet was available but was ill and weakened, so he did not play.

Limoges coach Arnaud Tessier said his team was not resting players but was missing injured players. He said the first quarter lacked the right intensity and that the team reacted too much instead of acting.

He described the team’s refusal to give up as a real strength. Tessier said Hugo Invernizzi wanted to play despite an injury that would normally sideline a player for six weeks, while Mam Guissé suffered a heavy fall and was not cleared by medical staff.

Tai Webster has an inflamed hip, and the team will assess his status.

JDA Dijon forward Quentin Losser said the team expected Limoges to arrive weakened and that the match could be a trap game. He said the team wanted to regain its defensive aggression, which had slipped in the previous two games, and that the defensive performance was very satisfying.

Losser said the team has a major match at Cholet on Saturday.

Limoges forward Louis Labeyrie said the team was disappointed and that the first quarter was difficult. He said the younger players were not at fault because the team had only professionals in the lineup, and he called for a faster reaction.

He said some losses had gone against the team and that the team needed to make its own luck.
