France women’s national team friendly against Morocco, Digi Mart USA News (France): France’s women’s national team have confirmed a friendly against Morocco, according to Football.fr. The match will take place on December 5 in Sochaux, the team’s latest preparation fixture ahead of the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
The France squad qualified for the tournament after finishing top of its qualifying group, two points ahead of the Netherlands, despite losing 2-1 in Breda on April 14 and drawing 1-1 in Auxerre four days later. The World Cup runs from June 24 to July 25, and the draw is scheduled for December 11 in Rio de Janeiro.
Coach Laurent Bonadei will use the next international window for a broad squad review. The next gathering includes three matches: a game against Venezuela on November 27 in Nancy, a match against a still-to-be-determined opponent on December 1, and the meeting with Morocco on December 5 in Sochaux.
The Morocco match is considered a useful test against the Atlas Lionesses, who reached the semifinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations for women last summer before losing to Morocco on penalties in Rabat. The two sides could meet again at the World Cup.
Separately, Éric Blahic has been appointed head coach of Morocco. He previously served as an assistant to Corinne Diacre and Hervé Renard with the France national team from 2020 to 2024.
