France Football, USA News: Detailed voting breakdowns for the 2026 Ballon d’Or have brought to light the selections made by Vincent Garcia, editor-in-chief of the magazine France Football and a member of the French jury. Garcia positioned the French national team duo of Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé at the head of his ballot, presenting a ranking that differed from the final outcome of the award, which was ultimately won by England’s Harry Kane.
Mbappé claimed the top position on Garcia’s list, securing 15 points, while Dembélé—the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner—followed in second place. The ballot submitted by the editor-in-chief of France Football marked the fourth closest vote to the final standings of the award and was counted among the 23 individual votes that placed the Real Madrid star in the number-one spot.
Garcia’s ballot sparked discussion regarding the eventual winner of the accolade, as Harry Kane appeared only in sixth place. Ahead of the English striker, Lamine Yamal occupied third place, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took fourth, and Lionel Messi placed fifth.
Further down the list, French player Michael Olise secured the seventh position, followed by Norway’s Erling Haaland in eighth. Meanwhile, Spain’s Rodri dropped to ninth place after finishing fourth in the overall final standings, and his compatriot Fabián Ruiz rounded out the top ten in the final position.
