Emmanuel Macron post-2027 presidency plans, Digi Mart USA News (France): Emmanuel Macron has been in power for 10 years and will hand over the keys of the Elysee Palace in May 2027 after two turbulent five-year terms. What will become of the youngest president of the Fifth Republic once he leaves the core of French political life is one of the questions addressed by editorialist Francoise Degois in her book “Vous etes tous trop durs avec moi” (Robert Laffont), scheduled for publication Thursday, November 5, 2026.

In the book, former adviser to Segolene Royal reveals two years of private conversations with the president, alternating between political reflections, sharp criticism of certain political figures and questions about his future. The publisher article reports that Macron has denied a Journal du Dimanche report, from July, that he was preparing a post-presidency move to billionaire Xavier Niel, calling it “absolute nonsense.”

According to the article, Macron said: “I will not go to anyone. In any case, if I do business, it will be mine and I think rather outside France, but I will be neither their employee nor their obligee.

Never.” He has reportedly spoken little about life after the Elysee with those close to him, and he expressed nostalgia for his first five-year term, including writing in October 2024 from Brussels that he was bored.

Asked whether he was feeling low, Macron acknowledged in a rare moment of vulnerability that things sometimes weigh on him, before adding that he is never discouraged. After his speech at the August 17 commemoration of the liberation of Bormes-les-Mimosas (Var), Degois noted a touch of melancholy, to which Macron replied: “The blues, no, but yes, you leave your flesh and soul there, and yes, ten years is an era, so it is still a small death.”
