Social Security payment schedule, USA News: The Social Security Administration (SSA) has officially established its payment calendar for November 2026. This month features a specific adjustment because of the federal Veterans Day holiday, resulting in one group of beneficiaries receiving their funds a day earlier than the standard schedule dictates.
The SSA distributes financial benefits throughout the month determined by the specific type of benefit and the recipient’s birth date. For the month of November 2026, the administration outlined the exact dates for distribution.
November 2026 Payment Adjustments
Individuals born between the 1st and the 10th of the month typically receive their disbursements on the second Wednesday of each month. In November 2026, the second Wednesday lands on November 11th, which is recognized as Veterans Day, a federal holiday.
Whenever a scheduled payment date coincides with a federal holiday or a weekend, the SSA shifts the deposit date to the preceding business day. Consequently, this specific round of payments will be issued on Tuesday, November 10, instead of Wednesday, November 11.
The administration noted that this adjustment is neither an extra payment nor a permanent modification to the calendar. It remains the standard scheduled payment simply moved forward by one single day.
