National Lottery winner, USA News (Tameside, UK): A lottery player from Tameside who won £1million has finally stepped forward to collect their winnings after the prize remained unclaimed for a period of four months. The victor presented themselves in the nick of time, with their ticket facing expiration in December had they failed to come forward.

The National Lottery had launched an appeal urging residents in the Greater Manchester area to examine their tickets following the summer draw. The individual has now been located after an intensive search to track down the holder of the life-altering sum. Andy Carter, senior winner’s advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, described the extensive efforts undertaken to locate the prize holder.

"We have been doing everything we can to raise awareness of the unclaimed £1M prize in Tameside and making sure the missing millionaire was talk of the town, not just locally, but nationally," he stated. Mr Carter noted the fortunate individual had been entirely oblivious to their windfall, stating they had spent the last four months completely unaware they were sitting on a life-changing sum of money before everything changed overnight.

The victor’s identity remains undisclosed whilst the claim undergoes validation, with a decision on public disclosure to follow. Meanwhile, a substantially larger prize continues to await collection, with a jackpot worth £5,844,340 still outstanding from a ticket purchased in Lewisham.

Lewisham Jackpot Still Unclaimed

The winning slip for the Lewisham prize was acquired prior to the draw held on Saturday, September 26, and secured a match on all six principal numbers in the first round. The National Lottery has called upon anyone who may have bought a ticket in the south-east London area for that particular draw to verify their numbers.

The successful combination comprised 22, 27, 38, 42, 47 and 59, with 31 serving as the Bonus Ball. The fortunate ticket bearer has until 25th March 2027 to present their claim, representing an 180-day window from the original draw date. The resolution of the Tameside case represents one of many substantial wins distributed by Lotto during the current calendar year, with 151 individuals achieving millionaire status since January.
