Uniper dividend increase ahead of planned reprivatization, Digi Mart USA News: The state-owned energy company Uniper is making its shares more attractive ahead of the planned reprivatization by proposing a higher dividend. The company said on Friday that it intends to propose a dividend of 77 cents per share for 2026 to the 2027 annual shareholder meeting.
That represents an increase of 7 percent over the 72 cents per share paid for 2025, the company, Germany’s largest gas company, said. The total dividend payout for 2026 would amount to 321 million euros, compared with 300 million euros previously.
The federal government is currently examining how to reduce its stake in Uniper, either through a sale or an initial public offering. The company expects further profitable development, which it said should also be reflected in its dividend policy.
Over the medium term, Uniper aims for annual dividend growth of 7 percent and a base dividend of 300 million euros. “With our strategy and planned investments, we are laying the foundation for the expected earnings growth in the coming years,” said Chief Executive Michael Lewis.
Shareholders are to participate in that growth, and the dividend policy provides a clear and long-term outlook: “We aim for a continuously growing dividend,” Lewis emphasized.
