Aminata Diallo Kheira Hamraoui assault case trial, Digi Mart USA News (Versailles, France): Former Paris Saint-Germain player Aminata Diallo has been referred to the Versailles criminal court on charges of complicity in violence and criminal association in the November 2021 assault on her former teammate Kheira Hamraoui, according to an order issued Friday, November 6, and seen by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Six other people have also been referred to trial for their alleged involvement in the case, including César Mavacala, a sports adviser to several Parisian players, who will have to appear on charges of illegally practicing as a sports agent.

Five years of investigation

On November 4, 2021, Kheira Hamraoui was attacked in Chatou, in the Yvelines department, with iron bars and struck on the legs by two men, in front of Aminata Diallo, as the two players were returning from a team dinner. At the end of the investigation, the Versailles prosecutor had requested a trial against Ms.

Diallo, who is suspected of having commissioned the attack, against five other suspects accused of taking part, and against Mr. Mavacala.

“After five long years of investigation, it is an immense relief to see the inquiry reach its conclusion and a trial soon to be held,” Hamraoui’s lawyers, Julia Minkowski and Saïd Harir, told AFP. “The full truth can finally be laid out in this case of extraordinary violence in football, and even in sport, in which the victim was the subject of an unacceptable smear campaign following her assault.”

The investigating judge found that Aminata Diallo was complicit in aggravated intentional violence, concluding that she had commissioned the acts and guided the attackers to the location without taking part directly.

Regarding César Mavacala, the investigating magistrate issued a dismissal of charges for extortion and organized fraud, finding that the evidence did not sufficiently establish threats or coercion constituting that offense. His lawyer, Sandrine Pégand, welcomed the decision, calling it “a major ruling that removes the most serious part of the proceedings.

We will now approach the trial with serenity and determination.”

The prosecutor’s office told AFP that a hearing date has not yet been set.
