SVT removes wildlife video over suspected AI manipulation, Digi Mart USA News (Ystad, Sweden): SVT Skåne has unpublished a video that was purported to show a lynx outside Ystad. The newsroom said that after publication, editors suspected the clip had been manipulated using artificial intelligence.

“After publication, the editorial team developed suspicions that the material is AI-generated and has therefore chosen to unpublish it,” the broadcaster wrote in an article.

According to the report, similar events occurred at the newsrooms in Västmanland and Gävleborg, where the submitted videos purported to show an otter and a wolverine. All emails sending the alleged wildlife films to the three newsrooms appear to originate from the same person, SVT Skåne’s responsible publisher Göran Eklund told Omni.

“It was good that we at SVT discovered this ourselves. It is a new world out there now.

We need to learn from this, of course,” Eklund said.
