With this percentage, the mayor ranks third from the bottom of the national table, ahead of only the mayors of Chiautempan, Tlaxcala (29.7%), and Juchitán, Oaxaca (25.9%).

The pollster’s list places the following mayors at the bottom of the ranking, which it labels the “red lantern.”

Publication of the survey has produced divided opinions and exchanges on social media and among the local public in Comondú. Critics and state political figures said the results reflect erosion in municipal management and questioned the mayor’s reelection aspirations, suggesting that low approval will directly affect electoral dynamics ahead of the next elections.

Despite the poor showing in the national survey, Roberto Pantoja aims to be reelected as the MORENA candidate for mayor of Comondú in the 2027 electoral process, with the goal of serving another three years at the head of the local government.
