Coupe de France pétanque Morières-les-Avignon boule dorée, Digi Mart USA News (Morières-les-Avignon, France): During the weekend of October 31 and November 1, the boule dorée of Morières-les-Avignon defeated the Hérault club of Saint-Thibéry, according to La Provence.

After being put under pressure in the tête-à-tête matches, the Morières players won all three doubles contests, with Pioggini-Gimenez, Pujante-Casado and Montaigne-Aubert taking the matches 13-5. A single triplette, Aubert-Montaigne-Martin, was enough to secure the local side’s win in the decisive match, 18-13.

That victory earned the club a place in the third zone round, the first time in its history that Morières has reached that stage of the competition.

The two other Vaucluse committee clubs also remain in the competition. The Jbag Carpentras and the boule dorée of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue will travel to Saint-Bauzile (Lozère) and Le Canet (Côte d’Azur) respectively.

Both must play their matches before the November 15 deadline.
