Bojun ‘N’ ‘El Chino’ arrest for money laundering in Mexico City, Digi Mart USA News (Miguel Hidalgo borough, Mexico City): Members of the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana, the Fiscalía General de la República and the Mexico City police detained Bojun ‘N’, alias ‘El Chino’, 41, in the Miguel Hidalgo borough of Mexico City. The inter-agency operation followed intelligence work that identified the alleged leader of a network involved in money laundering, arms trafficking and human trafficking linked to the criminal organization La Unión Tepito.
During a search of the property, authorities seized 920,000 U.S. dollars and 26,976,000 Mexican pesos in cash, a total exceeding 43 million pesos, along with vehicles, drugs and high-end watches.
According to official reports from the Federal Security Cabinet, Bojun ‘N’ headed a financial structure with a presence in central Mexico City and in the cities of Tijuana, Baja California, and Cancún, Quintana Roo.
Investigators say the detainee facilitated the laundering of proceeds from illicit activities through links with businesspeople. Federal and local forces obtained a search warrant after surveillance on a property near the Polanco area, and agents of the Navy, the Mexican Army and citizen security corps took part in the inspection of a home on Zúrich Street.
Agents seized bundles of banknotes in national and foreign currency packed in several bags. Also confiscated were collectible watches from brands including Richard Mille, Hublot and Rolex, a banknote counting machine, a digital gram scale, cell phones, various immigration documents, cartridges, doses of narcotics and private vehicles.
Police sources said the detainee had prior international criminal records after leaving his country of origin years earlier. Omar García Harfuch, head of the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana, confirmed the arrest through official channels and thanked the coordinating institutions of Mexico City.
He said investigations will continue to weaken the financial structures of criminal groups and reduce their operational capacity.
Bojun ‘N’, together with the cash and seized assets, was placed at the disposal of the federal Public Ministry prosecutor to determine his legal status.
