Ecatepec disappearance case and human remains found in Mexico State, Digi Mart USA News (Ecatepec, Mexico): Ana Belén “N” and Marcos Alejandro “N” have been linked to process for their alleged involvement in the disappearance of a 52-year-old woman in Ecatepec. As part of the investigation, authorities located human remains buried in cement at a property in the Rústica Xalostoc neighborhood, whose identity has yet to be determined.
The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico reported that the victim was last seen on October 15, when her partner left for work and left her in the company of the two suspects, who lived in the same home. Ana Belén “N” is the niece of the missing woman.
When the victim’s partner returned home, he asked about her, but the two suspects said they did not know where she was. Due to the lack of information, a complaint was filed and an urgent bulletin was issued to try to locate her.
Ministerial inquiries included forensic analysis and tracking of telephone lines. This work established that the victim’s phone continued operating near her home and identified spatial and temporal matches with lines associated with the two detained individuals.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, inspections of properties linked to the victim and the suspects found traces of blood. Authorities believe the couple probably deprived the woman of her liberty and concealed information about her whereabouts.
Based on these elements, an arrest warrant was requested and subsequently executed. Both were transferred to a Penitentiary and Social Rehabilitation Center, where they were placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
The judge ordered that they be linked to process for the crime of disappearance of persons committed by private individuals, with aggravating circumstances that the victim is a woman and that a family relationship existed. The judge also imposed mandatory pretrial detention and set a three-month deadline for closing the complementary investigation.
During the search for the woman, Prosecutor’s Office agents inspected a property in the Rústica Xalostoc neighborhood, where they found the remains of a female person buried in cement.
The identity of the remains remains under analysis through various forensic tests, with the aim of establishing whether they correspond to the woman reported missing.
The State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office indicated that, if responsibility is proven, each of the accused could face a sentence of up to 50 years in prison. However, both must be presumed innocent until a conviction is issued.
