Mexican peso dollar exchange rate November 4, 2026, Digi Mart USA News: The U.S. dollar (USD) traded at about 18.64 Mexican pesos (MXN) on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in the currency market, a decline of 0.95% from the previous close, according to Investing.com quotes cited by Players of Life.

The Mexican peso gained against the U.S. dollar following the U.S.

midterm elections.

The USD/MXN exchange rate stood at 18.6411 pesos per dollar, 18 centavos below the previous close of 18.8208. The session opened at 18.815, and throughout the morning the dollar moved in a range of 18.5756 to 18.8701.

According to market reports, the move was driven by investor reaction to the U.S. midterm elections, which eased some pressure on emerging-market currencies.

Banco de México (Banxico) set its reference interbank exchange rate at 18.6673 pesos, while the spot rate, the rate negotiated at the moment for immediate transactions, ranged between 18.65 and 18.68 pesos. The small difference from the 18.64 figure is explained by each source using different times and sets of transactions.

All of these sources show the dollar below 18.70 pesos.

The medium-term context is less favorable for the Mexican currency. The dollar has risen 2.62% over the last month, 8.00% over three months and 6.45% over six months, meaning the peso is worth less today than in those comparison periods.

The weekly change is essentially flat at 0.00%, and the one-year change is just -0.22%. The 52-week range runs from 16.8555 to 18.9283 pesos, so the dollar remains near the top of that interval, about 29 centavos below its annual high.

Banks set their own buying and selling prices, and the difference between them, known as the spread, is the institution’s margin. For consumers, the selling price matters when buying dollars, and the buying price matters when selling dollars held.

Among the options, BBVA offered the cheapest dollar for sale at 18.93 pesos, while Scotiabank had the most expensive at 19.20 pesos. That 27-centavo difference equals 270 pesos on a purchase of 1,000 dollars.

Official references are not counter prices but figures used for tax, legal and settlement purposes. Banco de México’s FIX exchange rate, which the central bank calculates from interbank market quotes, stood at 18.7592 pesos during Tuesday’s session.

The same figure appears in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF) and is used by the Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT) as a reference for procedures and obligations.

In the 48-hour interbank market, which covers transactions between financial institutions settled two days later, Banxico reported for Tuesday an opening of 18.693 pesos to buy and 18.699 pesos to sell. The session high was 18.869 pesos and the low was 18.667 pesos.

Because these references reflect Tuesday’s session, they sit about 12 centavos above the current market quote, which already reflects the peso’s improvement.

If you are not in a hurry, consider splitting a purchase into several parts rather than buying everything on one day. With the dollar at 18.64 in the market and near its 52-week high, the exchange rate may keep moving in both directions, and spreading the transaction reduces the risk of buying at an unfavorable moment.

This is a general guideline, not investment advice.

Finally, avoid informal exchange houses and be wary of offers well below the rates quoted by banks and official references.
