Pierre Goudenèche French Elite 50m breaststroke champion, Digi Mart USA News (Angers, France): Bordeaux swimmer Pierre Goudenèche won his first French Elite title in the 50-meter breaststroke on Sunday, November 1, in Angers, touching the wall in 26.49 seconds in the short-course pool.
The 27-year-old swims for Girondins de Bordeaux Natation. The day before, he had narrowly missed the podium in the 100-meter breaststroke, finishing fourth in the final in 58.76 seconds.
The title rewards several years of work. Goudenèche placed third at the 2024 French Elite Championships and finished second in the 50-meter breaststroke in long course in both 2025 and 2026, before taking the top step this time.
He was already selected for the French team at the 2025 World Championships in Singapore. He now has an Olympic ambition, and the calendar favors him: the 50-meter breaststroke will be added to the program at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Goudenèche, a specialist in the shorter breaststroke distance, trains and lives in Bordeaux. Beyond his pool performances, he has an unusual background: he has held a doctorate in neurosciences and nutrition from the University of Bordeaux since January 2026.
He is currently preparing for the BPJEPS swimming diploma, which will allow him to teach swimming and help fund part of his sporting career. Pursuing an Olympic dream also requires resources, and he is seeking business partners to support him through the Los Angeles Games.
Companies interested in sponsoring his project can reach out to him directly. The public can follow his preparation on Instagram or contribute to his funding through the “Je soutiens mon sportif” platform.
