Naucalpan City Storage investment and municipal infrastructure, Digi Mart USA News (Naucalpan, Estado de México): Isaac Montoya Márquez, municipal president of Naucalpan, State of Mexico, inaugurated the first City Storage branch in Mexico in Lomas Verdes, with an investment of 450 million pesos. The opening, according to the mayor, confirms business confidence in Naucalpan based on its location, infrastructure and connectivity with the center of the country.
The mayor reported that the property covers 15,500 square meters and houses 1,500 self-storage units. The company announced four new projects over the next three years, with an investment of 1,500 million pesos that will mainly benefit Naucalpan.
Montoya also said that foreign investment in the State of Mexico grew 37 percent and generated more than 191,000 jobs during the first two years of the state government.
The Naucalpan government has invested 28 million pesos in machinery for rehabilitating streets and roads, including an integral pothole repair machine, a mobile concrete mixer and a paving train, which are currently focused on industrial zones of the municipality, according to Montoya.
As part of the Eastern Zone Reconstruction Plan, Naucalpan also received a paving train from the federal government, intended to recover roads that for decades went without comprehensive intervention, such as industrial park streets and secondary roads, the mayor said.
The mayor reported that 10 million pesos were invested in the pothole repair machine, 8 million pesos in the concrete mixer and 10 million pesos in the asphalt paver. For next year, the municipal government will focus on purchasing supplies needed to carry out volume-based works and advance into more neighborhoods.
Montoya noted that a second pothole repair machine will arrive in Naucalpan in a few days, allowing further progress on repaving and pothole repair. He said the priority area is the industrial zone, which he described as the most lagging, and work has recently begun in Ahuizotla.
“The new train acquired with our own resources to cover more repaving works, plus the train that reached us through the inclusion in the Eastern Zone program, we are going to work in the areas of Alce Blanco, Industrial Tlatilco, San Andrés Atoto, among others. We are going to rebuild Naucalpan’s industrial zone, because although it does not have high population density, it is the route of work for many citizens,” he added.
Montoya said that at the start of his administration the commitment was to intervene in one million square meters of streets, but that, counting repaving, sidewalk reconstruction and pothole repair, the goal has been doubled to two million square meters, including works carried out by the communes, the Huellas de la Transformación program, the Annual Works Plan (POA), administration works, OAPAS and the Public Services Directorate.
