Saint-Pierre France 3 police series, Digi Mart USA News (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon): France 3 is launching a new police drama from a cold northern setting. On Sunday, November 22, at 9:10 p.m.
on France 3 and france.tv, Saint-Pierre sets its criminal storylines in the heart of the French archipelago of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, centered on two investigators with very different approaches.
The series follows Lieutenant Donald “Fitz” Fitzpatrick, who has been exiled to Saint-Pierre after arresting the Premier of Newfoundland. His arrival disrupts the routine of Captain Geneviève “Arch” Archambault, a Parisian who has settled on the island for reasons she has not disclosed.
The two experienced officers, with radically opposed methods, are forced to work together to solve crimes as unusual as the place where they occur.
Beneath its postcard facade, the archipelago hides criminal activity no one suspects. Initially wary of each other, Arch and Fitz soon discover that, despite themselves, they form a formidable team.
The premise follows a familiar mismatched-partner structure, but the setting gives the series an immediately recognizable atmosphere, with fog, ocean, colorful houses and an insular setting.
The cast is led by Allan Hawco as Fitz, who is also a co-creator of the series, and Joséphine Jobert as Arch. Jobert, a French actress and singer, gained an international audience through the British series Death in Paradise, broadcast on the BBC.
The cast also includes James Purefoy, Benz Antoine and Erika Prevost.
The first two episodes, “Le miel et les affaires” and “Fête nationale,” will air on the opening night. Saint-Pierre is a French-Canadian co-production.
It has already aired on Canada’s public broadcaster CBC, and a new season has reportedly been put into development.
