Checo Pérez charity auction of Mexico GP helmet and race suit, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Sergio “Checo” Pérez raced the Mexico Grand Prix as his 300th Formula 1 start, making the helmet and race suit he wore especially notable. The items are now being offered at a charity auction, with bidding open to buyers willing to spend roughly 3.5 million Mexican pesos.

Pérez announced the auction on his social media accounts, saying his 300th grand prix had been an unforgettable experience. He said he wanted the moment to also benefit his foundation, which supports the development of vulnerable girls and boys.

The proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Fundación Checo Pérez. Pérez said he wanted to involve supporters in the foundation’s project to help children in Mexico.

The opening bids are high because of the items’ significance. The helmet starts at $1,700,000 Mexican pesos (1.7 million pesos) and the race suit at $1,800,000 pesos (1.8 million pesos).

Interested bidders may enter the auction by sending a private message to the Instagram account of the Fundación Checo Pérez (@fundacionchecoperez) before 13:30 on Thursday, November 5. Updates on the current highest bid will be shared in the account’s Instagram stories.

The helmet and suit will be delivered signed by Pérez.

The article notes that a 300th Mexico Grand Prix start is unlikely to be repeated. Pérez’s contract with Cadillac runs through 2029, and the article suggests he may not reach 400 races depending on when he retires.
