Mexican Pacific port closures due to severe weather, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Adverse weather conditions in the Mexican Pacific led to the closure of several ports to navigation by small vessels, according to the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC), based on a report from the Secretaría de Marina (Semar).

The measure covers localities in Baja California, Baja California Sur and Sonora, where maritime authorities recommended extreme caution due to the storm and advised staying informed about sea conditions before undertaking activities at sea.

According to the notice issued by Civil Protection, restrictions for small vessels apply at the following points. In Sonora, the closure to small vessel navigation was also reported in the delegations of Álvaro Obregón, Desemboque Caborca, Puerto Lobos and Desemboque de los Seris, within the jurisdiction of Puerto Libertad.

The National Civil Protection Coordination asked the public to heed advisories from maritime authorities and take precautions before engaging in activities in the affected areas. Recommendations include staying informed about navigation conditions and avoiding risky situations during port, tourism, sports, fishing, coastal and beach activities.

The restrictions apply to small vessels, and residents should consult official Secretaría de Marina notices for any updates on the opening or continuation of closures. People in coastal areas should follow authority instructions and avoid entering the sea when weather conditions pose a danger.
