Mexico business confidence October 2026, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Business confidence in Mexico declined in October. The Global Business Opinion Confidence Indicator (IGOEC) stood at 48.2 points, a drop of 0.2 points from the previous month and 0.3 points compared with a year earlier, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

According to the report, the monthly decline contrasted with the slight recovery recorded in September, when the indicator reached 48.4 points and rose 0.1 points from August.

With this result, the business confidence indicator has now remained below the 50-point threshold for 20 consecutive months.

The Inegi figures show a moderate loss of confidence in October following the slight gain in September.

Lower confidence reduces the willingness to invest, which limits business expansion as companies cut production amid uncertainty about the national economy. It also slows the flow of private capital essential for development.

Lower confidence likewise reduces job creation and raises the risk of layoffs or informality, since confidence is linked to hiring and productive activity.

In October 2026, seasonally adjusted figures showed the manufacturing industries’ confidence indicator at 48.4 points, 0.3 points higher than in September. This gain was driven by positive movement in four of the five components of the manufacturing business confidence indicator.

During October, the construction industry’s confidence indicator rose 0.4 points from the prior month to 48.1 points. By component, the right moment to invest advanced 0.9 points monthly and 6.6 points annually.

The present economic situation of the country grew 0.7 points monthly and 3.3 points annually, while the future economic situation of the country fell 1.1 points monthly but rose 0.3 points annually.

The present economic situation of the company increased 2.2 points monthly and 1.1 points annually. The future economic situation of the company fell 0.4 points monthly and rose 0.2 points annually.

In the reference month, the commerce indicator stood at 48.5 points, a decline of 0.3 points month over month and an annual increase of 0.6 points compared with the same month a year earlier.
