Mexico digital payments per person, Digi Mart USA News: Digital transactions per person in Mexico could rise from 15 in 2021 to 80 in 2026, according to estimates compiled in a study by Endeavor Data Unit, the research division of Endeavor Mexico, prepared in collaboration with Mercado Pago. The report finds that willingness to leave cash behind already exists among digital consumers, but fees, a lack of incentives and connectivity continue to slow daily use.

According to Worldpay 2026 data cited in the study, cash accounted for 40% of the value of in-person payments in Mexico during 2025, compared with 32% in Colombia and 30% in Peru.

For Endeavor, the next stage is to turn that expansion into more frequent use. Among participants, digital payments predominate in five of the six everyday contexts analyzed.

The exception is informal commerce, where cash holds a share of 91.4%.
