Märchen Crown manga French release, Digi Mart USA News: Märchen Crown, the new manga by Aka Akasaka, the author of Oshi no Ko and Kaguya-sama: Love is War, is finally coming to France. The series has been serialized in Weekly Young Jump since March 2025, according to the publisher article.
The manga is a revisited version of Rapunzel, the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, blending the codes of romance and horror. Akasaka’s previous works, Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Oshi no Ko, concluded in November 2022 and November 2024 respectively.
The story follows Rapunzel, a young woman with long hair who lives alone in a huge tower cut off from the world. She has never found the courage to leave, until a curious and fearless boy named Mikel climbs the tower and meets her face to face.
With this new ally, Rapunzel has the opportunity to pursue her dream of exploring the outside world. However, the world beyond the tower is far from a fairy tale, and the manga takes a much darker tone than the Disney adaptation of the same tale.
On November 3, 2026, the publisher Mana Books officially announced that the title will join its catalog in France. Volume one is scheduled for release on March 4, 2027.
Readers who want a preview can access the first three and last three chapters on the Manga Plus application from Shueisha.
