Des racines & des ailes Jardins extraordinaires, Digi Mart USA News: Could the world’s most beautiful gardens have a touch of Riviera character? On Wednesday at 10:05 p.m., the program Des racines & des ailes will broadcast a new 52-minute episode on Jardins extraordinaires on France Télévisions, a botanical journey that stops on the French Riviera.
The first segment features Jean Mus, a landscape designer from Grasse who has created more than 1,500 gardens, mostly Mediterranean, around the world. On the Greek island of Spetses, he takes on a new challenge: designing a garden that can adapt to climate warming, use little water and withstand drought.
Viewers will also follow him by helicopter over the Estérel and the Grasse region to discover some of his creations. The program then moves to Menton, where chef Mauro Colagreco, the only three-Michelin-star chef in the Alpes-Maritimes, grows five biodynamic kitchen gardens across 22 hectares.
Those gardens supply his restaurant with as many as 1,500 varieties of fruits and vegetables. Along the way, cameras will also visit the Château de Bournazel in Aveyron, the surprising Tarot Garden by Niki de Saint Phalle in Tuscany, and the Nemo garden off the Italian coast, where agriculture is practiced underwater.
The episode airs Wednesday, November 4, at 10:05 p.m. on France 3 and is available on replay via france.tv.
