Wolf Alice opening U2 concerts at Stade de France, Digi Mart USA News (Saint-Denis, France): U2 will return to France for two concerts at the Stade de France on May 5 and 8, 2027. The Irish band has chosen British indie rock group Wolf Alice to perform the opening act, according to the publisher’s report.

Tickets for the dates go on sale on November 6, and fans are already watching the box office closely. Although Wolf Alice are considered major stars in the United Kingdom, the source notes that the quartet has not yet fully won over French audiences.

The band was formed in 2010 by Ellie Rowsell and Joff Oddie, who named the group after a short story by writer Angela Carter. They later added bassist Theo Ellis and drummer Joel Amey, with the lineup settling into its current form.

The group released its first EP, Blush, in 2013 and its debut album, My Love Is Cool, in 2015. The album reached number two in UK sales, and the single Giant Peach was named best song of the year at the 2016 NME Awards.

Wolf Alice’s second album, Visions of a Life, released in 2017, won the Mercury Prize for Album of the Year in 2018. Their third album, Blue Weekend, released in 2021, reached number one on the UK charts and earned the band the Brit Award for Best British Group in 2022.

The band has also opened for artists including Liam Gallagher, Harry Styles and Olivia Rodrigo. In July 2026, Wolf Alice headlined a large concert at Finsbury Park in London, with The Last Dinner Party, Lykke Li and Rachel Chinouriri also performing.

Wolf Alice released their latest album, The Clearing, in 2025, recorded in Los Angeles with producer Markus Dravs and led by the single Bloom Baby Bloom. The source describes the group as a strong draw for the U2 shows and advises concertgoers to arrive early for the opening set.
