Sarah Knafo has moved onto the offensive on the media front. The European deputy announced that she formally lodged a complaint with Arcom to denounce what she describes as flagrant failures regarding rules of fairness and political pluralism. The decision follows her appearance on the airwaves of France Info on October 28, during which she maintains she suffered partial treatment during her political interview. In a video message shared on her social networks, the elected official lambasted the treatment reserved for her political family and pointed to a glaring imbalance across national antennas. Determined to enforce existing texts, she is calling for rigorous control of speaking time and immediate call-to-orders against broadcasters accused of partiality.

To support her approach before the institution, Sarah Knafo relies on precise findings. In her public statement, the representative of Reconquete maintained that legal obligations of democratic representativeness are no longer guaranteed on television channels and radio stations. We note a systematic invisibilisation of our ideas and representatives, she insisted, denouncing a stark discrepancy between election results and the guest slots granted on television sets. Determined to win her case, Sarah Knafo analyzed her on-air appearance and noted 73 interruptions in 24 minutes and a sham trial with a banner reading Knafo answers accusations displayed from the first minute. She thus emphasizes that the three obligations that the law imposes on public service—namely information honesty, impartiality, and equal treatment—were not respected.

Beyond the general allocation of political speech, the attitude of public service media has drawn particular disapproval. Sarah Knafo recalled that public broadcasting is supported by all taxpayers and therefore must display exemplary impartiality in news coverage. The elected official denounced oriented editorial lines and urgently asked the media watchdog to demand strict compliance with specification requirements.

This initiative is part of heightened surveillance toward audiovisual editorial teams. The deputy’s team stated its intention to intensify verification of balances and does not rule out transmitting new reports if asymmetries in coverage persist in the coming weeks.

Arcom has now been called upon to examine the submitted records and formally rule on these allegations of imbalance. If the regulator validates the existence of an infraction against the principles of on-air pluralism, warnings or formal notices could be addressed to the management of the targeted channels. While awaiting the official response from the independent body, Sarah Knafo intends to maintain constant pressure on audiovisual sector actors. This offensive revives the debate over the counting of partisan interventions, a key issue in public life approaching major political deadlines.
