Palmeiras vs Vasco Copa do Brasil semifinal second leg lineups, Digi Mart USA News (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil): Palmeiras and Vasco are set for the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinal on Sunday at São Januário Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The match kicks off at 5 p.m.
Brasília time, and coach Abel Ferreira has kept Mauricio in the starting lineup while Andreas Pereira remains on the bench, as in the first leg.
On the Vasco side, coach Pedro Emanuel will have Andrés Gómez available. The forward missed the first leg in São Paulo because of pain in his left foot.
Emanuel also had to make a forced change in defense, as Saldivia was sent off in the first leg, so Gabriel Pereira starts in his place.
After resting several players in Thursday’s 3-1 win over Remo, Abel Ferreira chose to repeat the lineup from the first leg against Vasco. Giay and Piquerez return to the starting lineup at fullback, while Flaco López also starts.
Vitor Roque, who started the last match, moves back to the bench. Ramón Sosa, recovered from a right thigh injury, is available on the bench.
Palmeiras will line up with Carlos Miguel; Gustavo Gómez, Murilo and Barboza; Giay, Marlon Freitas, Andreas Pereira and Piquerez; Jhon Arias, Mauricio and Flaco López. Jefté is suspended and recovering from knee surgery, and Paulinho is sidelined with a right calf trauma.
Vasco will line up with Léo Jardim; Paulo Henrique, Gabriel Pereira, Robert Renan and Cuiabano; Thiago Mendes, Lescano and Sosa; Colidio, Andrés Gómez and Bruno Duarte.
Palmeiras need only a draw to reach the final after beating Vasco 1-0 last Sunday at Nubank Parque. Vasco need a win by one goal to force a penalty shootout.
The winner will face Grêmio in the final on December 6. The referee is Braulio da Silva Machado, with Victor Hugo Imazu dos Santos and Leila Naiara Moreira da Cruz as assistants and Wagner Reway on VAR.
