Alavés lineup Sevilla Guevara Yusi, Digi Mart USA News: Quique Sánchez Flores has decided to keep Ander Guevara and Yusi Enríquez in the starting lineup of Deportivo Alavés for the match against Sevilla, coached by Luis García Plaza.
The Vitoria-born midfielder and the Moroccan left-back continue from the Camp Nou match, in a lineup with four changes. Antonio Blanco, Pablo Ibáñez, Nicolás Valentini and Toni Martínez come in from the start at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, replacing Denis Suárez, Abde Rebbach, Carlos Benavídez and Jonny Otto.
With these new pieces, Alavés can switch between a 5-3-2, with Ángel Pérez and Yusi as wing-backs, and a 4-4-2, with Pablo Ibáñez moving to the left side and Nahuel Tenaglia entering at right-back. Antonio Sivera will start in goal, with Tenaglia, Ville Koski and Valentini as center-backs and Ángel Pérez and Yusi on the flanks.
Yusi, who had not started until the match against Barcelona, retains his place in the lineup. Abde Rebbach, a starter in the previous 11 matchdays and recently called up by Algeria, drops to the bench to begin the match.
In midfield, Blanco and Pablo Ibáñez return and are joined by Guevara, who left a good impression at the Camp Nou despite the heavy defeat. The Vitoria native has been gaining ground in Sánchez Flores’ plans and, for the first time this season, has started two consecutive league matches.
Denis Suárez and Carles Aleñá will be substitutes against Sevilla. Toni Martínez also returns to the starting lineup and will share the attack with Lucas Boyé.
Sánchez Flores regains his two preferred forwards for a versatile Alavés side seeking to end a poor run in Seville.
Alavés, who have struggled to keep a clean sheet and to score in the last two months, are on a seven-matchday winless streak. They have collected just 2 points from 21 available, which has pulled them closer to the relegation zone.
They must take something positive from the Pizjuán if they want to head into the international break with peace of mind, leaving behind the doubts raised against Málaga and Barcelona.
