Olivier Létang suspension, Digi Mart USA News: The president of Losc, Olivier Létang, has been handed a four-month firm suspension by the appeals commission of the French Football Federation, the AFP reported on Thursday, November 5, citing a spokesperson for the Lille club.
The sanction relates to comments Létang made about the referees after the Ligue 1 match between Lille and Paris Saint-Germain on August 28, which finished 2-2. He had already been fined 20,000 euros by the disciplinary commission of the Ligue de football professionnel in mid-September.
The federation appealed the original penalty, arguing it was too lenient. On Thursday the appeals commission imposed six months of suspension, including two months suspended, in addition to the fine.
In a statement sent to AFP, Létang said he had taken note of the decision and intends to pursue all necessary avenues of appeal.
