Mexico tourism activity growth second quarter 2026, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico City): Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, said tourism activity continues to show positive momentum, contributing to the dynamism of the national economy and generating opportunities for Mexican families.

“Each advance in tourism activity represents opportunities for our country. Tourism generates jobs, strengthens local economies and allows the benefits to reach more communities,” she said.

According to the Quarterly Tourism Activity Indicator (ITAT), published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the Quarterly Tourism Gross Domestic Product Indicator (ITPIBT) recorded growth of 0.8 percent compared with the same period of 2025 and 0.4 percent compared with the previous quarter, using seasonally adjusted figures.

Rodríguez Zamora said these indicators help track the economic activity of the tourism sector and the spending behavior of visitors to Mexico.

As President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has instructed us, we want more and more people to benefit from this activity and for Shared Prosperity to reach every corner of the country,” she concluded.
