Seine Orly bus network service problems, Digi Mart USA News (Val-de-Marne, Île-de-France, France): Missed bus runs, longer waiting times and unreliable passenger information are drawing criticism of the Seine Orly bus network. In response to what they describe as “dysfunctions” affecting users, twelve elected officials, including eight mayors, wrote to Valérie Pécresse on Monday.
In a letter, they ask Pécresse, who chairs the Île-de-France regional council and Île-de-France Mobilités, for an independent audit and urgent measures to improve service quality on the network. The network was previously operated by RATP and was entrusted to Keolis as part of the opening of the market to competition.
According to the report, workers are also affected. Céline Malaisé, president of the Gauche Communiste, Écologiste et Citoyenne group in the regional council, co-signed the letter and recalled that in early September a major strike denounced the deterioration of workers’ pay conditions and of the conditions under which the service is carried out.
The letter was co-signed by the mayors of Arcueil, Cachan, Gentilly, Ivry, Orly, Villejuif, Vitry and the 13th arrondissement of Paris, the president of the Grand-Orly Seine Bièvre territory, Paris councillor Jacques Baudrier and regional councillor Fabien Guillaud-Bataille, who sits on the board of Île-de-France Mobilités.
