Jesús ‘Tecatito’ Corona Mexico national team call-up, Digi Mart USA News: Mexico’s national team will face Jamaica in November in the Nations League quarterfinals, and coach Rafael Márquez is reportedly considering calling up players who have not been part of recent squads.
Among those names is Jesús Manuel ‘Tecatito’ Corona, the Rayados midfielder. According to TUDN, the 33-year-old could be one of the surprises on the list.
Corona has not played for Mexico since June 5, 2022, when he played 28 minutes in a friendly against Ecuador in Chicago that ended in a goalless draw.
In the 2026 Apertura, Corona has been essential for Monterrey, starting 11 of 13 Liga MX appearances. The club captain has contributed four goals for his team, with two goals and two assists of his own.
His statistics have not fully reflected his influence, but he has been important to his side’s play. The report notes that a year ago, he had contributed to eight goals for Monterrey and was not called up to the Tri.
If he is called, Corona would bring considerable international experience, having played 71 matches for Mexico with 10 goals and 10 assists. The official squad list has not yet been confirmed.
