The market grew 19.2 percent year over year and reached 77.2 million digital buyers.

According to the same AMVO study, online sales account for 17.7 percent of national retail trade, reflecting the growing role of digital platforms in Mexican household consumption habits.

Data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), drawn from the 2024 National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies in Households (ENDUTIH), show that 35.8 percent of internet users made online purchases. Among the product categories bought, personal use and hygiene items led with 77.9 percent, followed by household goods at 45.8 percent and food and beverages at 33 percent.

As part of its 11.11 campaign, AliExpress announced discounts of up to 90 percent on selected products, additional coupons of up to 20 percent, and interest-free installment options of up to 12 months on technology, kitchen and home items. The promotions run throughout November and until December 3.

The platform is also offering cashback promotions with participating financial institutions, aimed at shoppers buying for themselves or looking for gifts for holiday exchanges. The campaign extends beyond the traditional November discount events, giving consumers more time to buy products such as game consoles, televisions, toys and household items.

The article notes that consumer behavior during this period will be a relevant indicator of the evolution of e-commerce and the performance of the retail sector at the close of 2026.
