Calle México road works in La Paz, Baja California Sur: Calle México in La Paz, Baja California Sur: after years of access difficulties for local families, the state government announced a 4.9 million peso project starting November 4, but the bulletin gives no completion date, detour routes, or contractor information for residents.

Calle México in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Digi Mart USA News (La Paz, Baja California Sur): After years of access difficulties for families on Calle México, acknowledged by the authorities themselves, the state government has announced a public works project worth 4.9 million pesos. The announcement sets a start date of November 4, but it does not say when the work is expected to be completed.

The Secretariat of Public Works, Urban Infrastructure and Mobility (SEPUIMM) will carry out the work on the section between Monterrey and Campeche, in the La Rinconada Agustín Olachea Avilés neighborhood. The paving will use hydraulic concrete and include the renewal of potable water and sanitary drainage networks.

Edgar de la Cruz Domínguez, undersecretary of Infrastructure and Public Works, said residents have faced problems reaching their homes, mainly during the rainy season.

The project includes sidewalks, curbs, solar lighting, storm protection, landscaping, street furniture and signage. The agency asked people to take precautions and use alternative routes.

However, the statement does not identify those alternative routes, the expected duration of the restrictions, the length of the section, or the company responsible for the work. For neighbors, that information is needed to plan their travel and monitor the project’s progress.

The announced investment addresses a recognized need. However, a timetable and contractual information would still be needed to review both the schedule and the scope of the spending.

The absence of these details in the bulletin does not mean they are not available in other documents.
