Mexico and Russia cultural ties at Puebla State Congress, Digi Mart USA News (Puebla, Mexico): An institutional and musical gathering between Mexico and Russia was held at the headquarters of the Congress of the State of Puebla, designed as a platform for bilateral dialogue to recognize the talent of performers, promote artistic diversity and bring the traditional heritage of both peoples closer to citizens. The aim was to consolidate channels of artistic and educational cooperation between the two nations.
The protocol session was led by Pável Gaspar Ramírez, president of the Junta de Gobierno y Coordinación Política (Jugocopo) of the LII Legislature, together with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mexico, Nicolay Sofinskiy. During the official welcome, Gaspar Ramírez highlighted the continued relevance of bilateral ties and civic partnership aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations under a humanist approach.
Gaspar Ramírez described the encounter as a bicultural meeting between two of the greatest civilizations the world has witnessed, the Russian and the Mexican. He said the vast geographic distance between them is inversely proportional to the ideological and political affinities these two nations have shown at different stages of their historical development.
The artistic program included performances of folk dance pieces representative of both cultures, complemented by a collaborative concert featuring ensembles from the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Moscow and the Benemérito Conservatorio de Música del Estado de Puebla, presenting classical repertoire with international appeal.
Legislators Esther Martínez Romano, Beatriz Manrique Guevara and Gabriela Chumacero Rodríguez, along with deputy Jaime Alejandro Aurioles Barroeta, attended the diplomatic and artistic session, supporting the international engagement agenda from the local legislative branch.
