Palestine Action, USA News (London): Police have arrested dozens of supporters of the proscribed terror group Palestine Action outside the US Embassy in London. The majority of the 48 protesters were detained for expressing support for a proscribed organisation, as more than a hundred gathered outside the building in Nine Elms.
Following its proscription in June 2025, expressing support for Palestine Action is an offence under the Terrorism Act. Officers remained at the scene continuing to make arrests at the rally, which began at 1pm. More than a hundred demonstrators from Defend Our Juries protested outside the US mission, with some holding placards reading: “I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action”.
Met Commander Adam Slonecki warned prior to the event that anyone supporting those holding placards could expect to be arrested. Scotland Yard introduced a Section 35 dispersal order across parts of London, including the embassy grounds, running from 8am to 11pm on Saturday following intelligence that a group planned to attend and show support for a proscribed organisation.
Lambeth Council’s Green Party leader, Martin Abrams, shared concerns regarding the deployment of police resources on social media. Meanwhile, another protest supporting Palestine Action took place outside the US consulate in Edinburgh. Organisers from Defend Our Juries stated the demonstrations aimed to highlight actions surrounding the prohibition of Palestine Action and US relations.
